      Well, some people don’t!

I guess the top of your head would get cold if you didn’t have hair, and apart from that I can’t think of any good reasons! For some reason when we evolved to become less hairy we kept our head hair, strange eh?

You don’t need hair on your head, otherwise we wouldn’t have bald people.

Actually hair grows on all skin except your lips, the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands, but the thickness and length varies depending on where it is.

Why the head is one of the places it grows longer I’m not sure… but it may be related to attracting a mate!

I have absolutely no idea I’m afraid!
It can’t be “mandatory” though as, like Andrew said, many people don’t!
I would hazard a guess as it’s got something to do with evolution, and probably something genetic?
Someone once told me you lose most of your heat through your head, so Andrew’s suggestion of attempting to keep warm sounds plausible.

Well i guess you don’t need it now that we can get hats to keep our heads warm… and lots of people cope fine without hair. I like it though… it gives me something to play with while watching tv 😀
