• Question: What is your job as a scientist

      As a scientist i run an target area for an intense laser system and i plan and help run the experiments of the lucky scientists that get to use it. 🙂 I align the beams, try to solve the various puzzles and science mysteries that crop up on a daily basis. I also do my own research which is looking at accelerating beams of positively charged particles, protons, using the laser to effectively ‘punch’ them out of a very thin foil. It is enormous fun and working with other enthusiastic people is wonderful too.
