The computer (generalising to processing chips) has had a huge impact on everyday life, for example the phone in your pocket has more computing power than sent the Apollo missions to the moon! In the not so distant past (when I was growing up) having a computer was very rare, and what they could do astounded everyone. Now it is a huge part of everyday life.
Oooh, so many to choose from! Think I’m going to go with the lightbulb though. That was a pretty cool invention, so much better than candles and parafin lamps. The widespread use of the light bulb, in my opinion, has revolutionised the world – it’s a far more 24hr culture now, since you can create constant, usable and large scale light. Before this it would have been hard to open a 24hr superstore, run night shift in a factory etc etc.
