• Question: what is a cytoplasm?

      Interesting question! To be completely honest… i didn’t know I thought it had something to do with ghost busters but i have since found out that that is ectoplasm.

      So i did a bit of research (isn’t wikipedia wonderful?) and i found out that cytoplasma is what holds all the internal bits of a cell in place… isn’t that great… so even though i didn’t know what it was i was relying on it to keep all my cell bits in place!

      I love learning new things so thank you 😀

      It’s the stuff around the nucleus but inside the cell membrane. It’s mostly water and fibres with proteins and other molecules dissolved in it. If I remember my GCSE biology correctly??

      Yeh, racking my brain from biology lessons that sounds about right Daniel. I think the cytoplasm is common to both animal and plant cells, unlike some other cell components.

      Not being a biologist, I can’t remember! I agree with the others though, it sounds right…
