In general i like to go and see my friends, do sport and listen to music. I love playing games so me and my friends are always getting together to do that. I like going swimming and learning karate.. oh and i love to travel.

I also like experimenting with food… trying new recipes and making cakes and chocolates and i love trying new exotic fruits. I like writing stories and playing music and composing songs and i also enjoy tutoring students in science 🙂

I enjoy everything really… it’s just finding the time 😛

I have many other hobbies outside of science: sports (football, basketball, rounders, tennis, squash, golf, swimming…anything really!), jazz, astronomy (granted, that’s a pretty sciencey hobby).

But in general, given some free time you’ll most likely find me playing sports or eating tasty food.

If I haven’t spent too much time at work on the computer my favourite way to unwind is on my xbox. I like mostly go for adventure and racing games, but I’ll give anything interesting a go.

My other hobby is making websites – although science is a creative job, I don’t get to do much design work!

When the weather’s nice my girlfriend and I also enjoy taking our dog out to the countryside for a nice walk and if there’s a stream a swim (the dog swims, not me).

      Well, tricky question.
I spend a lot of time hanging out with my friends, they are from all over the place and some have now sadly moved away from Oxford, so it gets tricky. I also volunteered as president with a student charity, so I used to spend a lot of time making sure all the other volunteers were okay, and that would mean a lot of sitting in coffee shops…

Which brings me on to food. I love food of all kinds, and like to cook. Yes you may say cooking isn’t the most ‘manly’ of things, but I see it as Chemistry that makes a nice cake at the end! My flatmate is vegan this year so I am learning a lot about how to cook vegan food.

I also like listening to music (on my own or at gigs in Oxford) or going to the cinema or to see a play.

If it’s nice outside, a walk is always good, although we usually end up in a pub to warm up.

And reading, and photography. Oh and travelling! When I have the money! Like Dan says, it is good to get out into the countryside and to have a creative output in days that are often very scientific!

always lots of ideas but lack of time to realise them;)

but when I have time what I’m mostly doing is meeting my friends (or talking by skype – left some friends at Poland) or going to the mountains, or the perfect combination is going to the mountain with friends:) as I want to go higher and higher – been at Alps this summer and want to be back next year, so I’m also doing some climbing
apart from that for me good way to spend some time is a good book, film, music, theatre, art gallery, concert.. any kind of around art activity
