There are 702 planets that have been seen outside of our solar system. Most of them are like Jupiter, but that’s because they are the biggest ones, and most planets are too small for us to see so far away.

We don’t think that our solar system is special, so we expect that most stars similar to our Sun have a similar number of planets.

Because there are so many millions of stars in every galaxy, and there are millions of galaxies, we expect that there must be many millions of planets out there. But most of them we’ll never be able to see because they’re too small and too far away.
